reTHINK CD release (junctQín)

I have been out of habit in writing any more posts for such a long time, but there is still reason to celebrate my ensemble’s 10th anniversary that passed with our CD release in October. Here’s the link to reTHINK on Redshift Record’s page, where you can order either the digital version or one of the limited edition CDs!

On the 13th Piano Series

I’m delighted to be performing twice this season at the On the 13th Piano Series at the Canadian Music Centre’s newly renovated space and on their newly acquired Steingraeber & Söhne grand!

The first of these two performances will be on November 13 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, featuring my ensemble, junctQín, sharing 88 keys and more at the Canadian Music Centre (20 St. Joseph Street, Toronto).  The concert, Triologues, is the third in this season’s series, On the 13th, and will feature music for six hands by CMC Associate Composers Monica Pearce, Alex Eddington and Aaron Gervais, as well as Alfred Schnittke’s Hommage à Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Shostakovich.  Wine-tasting will follow the performance.

This concert is dedicated to celebrate and honour the 50th Anniversary of the Ontario Arts Council.   For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

A Touch of Light: Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2013

Well, it has again been a long stretch of not keeping up with my own announcements!  But, tonight I am looking forward to performing music by Schumann and Canadian composer Jordan Nobles as part of LeuWebb ProjectsA Touch of Light, one of the featured events during this year’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche.  While I enjoyed actually performing in and producing Sonic Toys in Transit, one of the featured projects for the 2010 Nuit Blanche, this year will be refreshing in that I will join 15 other pianists in a 12-hour concert-a-thon:  we’ll be performing on the beautiful Steingraeber piano at the Canadian Music Centre‘s new performance space.  The event is free and the live music will interact with a 100 incandescent light bulbs all night long!  Check out the line-up of both established and emerging pianists and their programs here
