Featured Artist at Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2010

Along with her contemporary collective, junctQín, Elaine will perform a 12-hour installation of Douglas C. Wadle’s (L.A.) Invention in Three Parts for Toy Piano and Cello.   The performance is one of 130 curated and selected projects by the City of Toronto for the 5th annual all-night contemporary art festival that will take place from 6:57am on Saturday October 2, 2010 until sunrise (7am).  Performances will take place every half hour in the Al Green Theatre and Jacobs Visual Arts Lounge Space at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre (750 Spadina Avenue, Toronto).

Elaine and members of junctQín previously gave the installation its Canadian premiere at Artspace during Peterborough’s Artsweek in September of 2009 without the optional cello part.   Kerri McGonigle will brave as the all-night cello soloist, playing alone in the Jacobs lounge, while her sound gets mixed and fed by sound artist Peter Olsen into the Al Green Theatre where junctQín perform from 7 oversized technicolour abstracted scores.  This event is free!
