junctQín is excited to give the Canadian debut of Douglas C. Wadle‘s performance-installation, “Invention in Three Parts for Toy Piano” at Artspace (378 Aylmer Street) on Monday September 21 at 4pm, 5pm, 7pm & 8pm. On Saturday September 19, the group will also perform a preview show of music for toy piano at Millenium Park in Peterborough at 5pm. Both events are part of Artsweek Peterborough, funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and the City of Peterborough.
Invention in Three Parts is comprised of three toy pianists interpreting seven scores projected onto three walls. The piece, originally composed as a film score, explores the relationship between Dada-ism, musical indeterminacy, and movement.
